Ecolab Pest France supports CroisiEurope to host hospital staff

French cruise company and long-term Ecolab customer decided to make good use of one of their vessels during the lockdown, as they prepared to reopen for business.

CroisiEurope is a river cruise company based in Strasbourg, France with an impressive fleet of 55 boats around the world.

An Ecolab customer for more than ten years, the company relies on our Pest team in France to provide rodent and cockroach control as well as disinfection services.

When the coronavirus outbreak began to take hold in Europe, the tourism and hospitality industries were hit particularly hard, with cruises coming to a sudden halt. At that time, CroisiEurope had boats docked with staff living there and no longer able to work.

Making the most of a difficult situation

Together with the Ecolab Pest team in France, the cruise company decided to make one boat available to nearby hospital staff: the MS Botticelli, docked along the Quai de la Grenelle in Paris, by the Georges Pompidou Hospital.
With access to accommodation and all the ship's facilities, as well as breakfast and dinner, hospital staff had all the comforts of this floating hotel at their disposal to rest and recharge.
Following this initiative, and to help the company prepare for a restart, the Ecolab team stepped in to provide complete disinfection services for the boat. As a result, the CroisiEurope crew working on board the ship will be able to continue its missions in a safe, healthy environment.
In challenging situations like these, the values of compassion and solidarity are more essential than ever, as are strong partnerships like this one between Ecolab Pest and CroisiEurope.
