Have you anticipated the phase-out of fluorescent EFKs?

Reduce energy consumption and control your costs with LED EFKs, while ensuring regulatory compliance and business continuity.

February 24, 2027: End of market availability for fluorescent tube EFKs

In highly demanding sectors such as Food Processing, Cosmetics, and Pharmaceuticals, flying insect control must be both effective, reliable, and fully compliant with regulatory requirements.

LED EFKs: a high-performance, sustainable technology fully compliant with RoHS

From February 2027, UV fluorescent tubes containing mercury will be banned from being placed on the European market. Electronic Fly Killers (EFKs) will therefore need to rely on innovative technologies—compliant with RoHS2 and CE standards—and designed to reduce energy consumption.

Turn compliance into a competitive advantage

Upgrading your EFK fleet is not just about meeting regulatory requirements — it’s an opportunity to optimize your operations:

  • Significant reduction in energy consumption (up to 69% savings)
  • Lower maintenance and replacement costs over time
  • Longer lifespan with consistent, reliable performance
  • Stronger environmental credentials to support your sustainability commitments

LED technology enables you to move from reactive compliance to proactive optimization—unlocking cost efficiencies while reinforcing your long-term sustainability strategy.

Our EFKs deliver up to 35% energy savings compared to other LED EFKs.

SUSTAINABLE, IMMEDIATE, AND CONTROLLED COST SAVINGS

  • Significant reduction in energy consumption: LED EFKs deliver up to 69% energy savings compared to a conventional fluorescent EFK
  • A substantial and long-term reduction in operating costs. LED tubes have a lifespan of up to 3 years, compared to 1 year for fluorescent tubes. Optimized energy consumption and reduced replacement components result in tangible and measurable operational cost savings.
  • Fluorescent EFKs typically consume between 40 and 80 W, generating up to €112 in annual costs per unit. LED EFKs significantly reduce this consumption (between 20 and 38 W). Our EFKs are optimized to operate at approximately 13 W, resulting in annual costs as low as €16–18.

A SUSTAINABLE, RESPONSIBLE SOLUTION FULLY COMPLIANT WITH REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Eliminate risk at the source: remove chemical risk by simplifying the risk assessment (DUERP), and reducing HSE constraints related to the evaluation, prevention, and traceability of hazardous substances.
  • Strengthen the credibility of your CSR approach. LED EFKs do not contain mercury and help reduce waste, hazardous substances, and enable insecticide-free operation.
  • Enhance your company’s image and credibility. This involves promoting a responsible and proactive positioning, meeting the expectations of customers, stakeholders, and investors, while reducing reputational risks associated with mercury, hazardous waste, and environmental lag.

With LED EFKs, economic performance and environmental responsibility now reinforce each other.

Risks of non-compliance

During audits and inspections, maintaining a fleet of conventional equipment may lead to observations, penalties, or even operational shutdowns.

Plan rather than react

The risks you are exposed to are multiple.

As of today, the progressive unavailability of fluorescent tubes due to new regulations, combined with rising energy costs, may impact your operations and profitability.

Switching to LED technology today allows you to spread the investment over time while limiting operational impact. Replacement can then be carried out progressively and in a controlled manner.
